NATHANIEL MATHEWS, GRADUATE STUDENT

NATHANIEL AS MAKER

I have my own little 3D printer. I used it to prototype a slightly more durable Google Cardboard. My girlfriend and I are in the middle of putting together a lasercut wooden Settlers of Catan set. I turned my Raspberry Pi into a browser-based sftp client.

NATHANIEL AS WRITER

I used to be the Online Managing Editor at Reporter Magazine. I'm in the middle of finishing up my 2015 NaNoWriMo novel (my very first!). The immensely talented Jess Hough and I are collaborating on a graphic novel. My poetry has been published in Signatures Magazine. I write boardgame reviews at The Gameboard.

NATHANIEL AS MUSICIAN

I play piano, mandolin, guitar, bass, bouzouki, ukulele, dunun and kazoo. I learned some from Mitch Chakour, some from Bisko Kaba, some from Bruce Blanchard and a lot on my own.

NATHANIEL'S FRIENDS

Lane Lawley creates stunning algorithmic art. Michael Potter built a system which determines optimal start location in Settlers of Catan board layouts. Sarah Smith and Ned King are accomplished musicians.
